Whether you are new to the sport of fly fishing or a seasoned angler, our passionate guide staff will provide you with valuable instruction, tips, and tactics to optimize your angling experience. We live and breathe fishing in Alaska and have our finger on the pulse of the rivers and the fish runs. From dry fly fishing light rods for grayling to swinging spey rods for Kings, our guides know the best strategies to get you on the fish. If fly fishing is not your style, or if you prefer the simplicity of casting a spinning rod our guide staff has a well rounded skill set to cater to your specific angling preferences.
Seasons of Abundance
Alaska’s fishing season is relatively short, but it’s packed with incredible opportunities. The best time to visit depends on the species you’re targeting and the type of experience you’re seeking. Trout fishing opens in mid June and by the first week of July the mighty King Salmon are at our doorstep. Sockeye and Chum Salmon follow closely behind the Kings bringing more migratory Rainbow Trout and Char with them. By the end of July the Silver run is beginning and continues through mid September. Resident Rainbows, Char, Grayling and Pike are present throughout the season. The lodge’s staff can help you choose the perfect time for your Alaskan fly fishing adventure.
Accessing the Fisheries
There are no roads out here! Whether walking down to the river to fish on the property, taking a jet boat ride from the lodge, enjoying a lodge float combo, or going on a fly-out day excursion, accessing the fisheries is part of the adventure. Jet boats are our primary mode of transportation when fishing our home river or its tributaries. For the float portion of the lodge float combo, 14-foot NRS rafts are the vessel of choice. Although fly-outs are not included in the price of our standard packages, they can be arranged for guests wishing to explore fishing locations not accessible from the lodge by jet boat.

Fishing Gear and Equipment
Quality gear and equipment are crucial for any trip to the Alaskan wilderness. From rods and reels to waders, boots, and clothing systems, our experienced staff has the knowledge to advise you on what to bring and what to leave at home. These pre-trip conversations are especially important when embarking on a lodge float combo trip.
